From a quantity sheet to a programme you can explain
A BOQ describes what must be built. A schedule also needs the work breakdown, construction sequence, durations, access constraints and resources. Nexora brings those decisions into one planning workspace, so you can trace the programme back to its quantities instead of rebuilding the same information across spreadsheets.
AI assists with extraction and activity preparation. The planning engineer still checks scope coverage, units, productivity assumptions and construction logic. A quantity mapped to an activity is a starting point; it is not proof that the programme is ready for approval.
A practical BOQ-to-schedule workflow
- Prepare the BOQ. Check item descriptions, units, quantities and the work areas or packages you want to distinguish.
- Review the mapping. Group BOQ rows into constructible activities and check items that need splitting across locations or trades.
- Build the WBS and durations. Set calendars, productivity and crew assumptions to match your execution strategy.
- Review the network. Check predecessors, milestones, critical path and resource peaks before exporting the programme.
For Saudi Arabia and UAE projects, confirm the actual working week, holidays, site restrictions and client reporting requirements. A country label cannot replace the project calendar.
Worked example: quantities, crews and working days
Illustrative calculation only. These rates are invented assumptions for this example, not regional productivity benchmarks or a Nexora project result.
| Activity | Quantity | Output per crew-day | Duration | Crew |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| A10 · Excavation | 120 m³ | 40 m³ | 3 days | 4 workers |
| A20 · Reinforcement | 6 tonnes | 2 tonnes | 3 days | 6 workers |
| A30 · Concrete | 60 m³ | 30 m³ | 2 days | 5 workers |
Duration = quantity ÷ daily crew output, rounded up to working days. With A10 → A20 → A30, this simplified chain takes eight working days. Labour effort is 12 + 18 + 10 = 40 man-days. Real sequencing may also require inspections, curing, equipment and procurement activities.
Download the illustrative BOQ schedule CSV →What to check before baseline submission
- BOQ scope and location breakdown agree with the activities and WBS.
- Durations reflect crew availability and justified output rates.
- Procurement, approvals, inspections and handover milestones are represented.
- Calendar exceptions and constraints have been reviewed.
- The exported programme has been opened and checked in the receiving scheduling system.
Once the baseline is established, use schedule updating to track progress, or compare recovery options when the forecast moves.
Common questions
Does a BOQ contain everything needed for a schedule?
No. Quantities alone do not define the sequence, calendars, approvals, procurement or crew availability. Add these project decisions and review the resulting logic.
Can I export the programme to Primavera P6?
Nexora supports P6 XER export. Review the exported activities, relationships, calendars and resources in your receiving P6 environment before issuing it.
Is AI schedule generation included in the free plan?
The free workspace supports manual planning. AI generation is included in eligible paid plans; check the current pricing page for allowances.
